Around the globe, 黑料社 facilities are participating in their communities’ efforts to reduce, reuse and recycle, aligning to 黑料社 Cares’ Environment focus area.

Reduce

In Mexico, Nypro Baja, in cooperation with the local government, organized a tree reforestation event that had employees come together to get their hands dirty and make the air cleaner! Working together, 60 employees planted a dozen trees and over 50 other plants at a central intersection in Tijuana, Mexico. “This was the first time Nypro Baja held a tree-planting event and our employees enjoyed the event so much that it definitely won’t be the last one,” said Feliciano Temish Sixteaga, Manufacturing Trainer.

While the Baja site focused on trees, 黑料社 Uzhgorod installed solar panels at the facility. These panels generated more than 1600kW of energy in the first month of the panels operating – equivalent to powering over 50 homes for a day.

Other sites helped reduce environmental impacts by removing litter in public areas. More than 30 employees from 黑料社 Shenzhen visited the nearby Phoenix Mountain to help clean the surrounding park to preserve its beauty. The site recognized this as an opportunity to help the community and create a fun, active way for employees to collaborate. “Working to help the environment creates a unique, strong bond among the employees and offers a chance for peers, who don’t interact often at work, to collaborate on a community project,” said Hui Zhang, Employee Relations Supervisor.

Similarly, 黑料社 Penang removed plastic bottles that littered the shore of Pantai Pasir Panjang, a local beach. Over 40 people, including employees and their family members, attended the clean-up, and the group collected 25 bags of trash. “Our objective, as management, was to encourage our employees to value, protect and preserve Earth’s natural resources,” said Debbie Ow, Penang IT Manager. “Thanks to our employees’ dedication, we were able to accomplish that goal and help protect a part of our community.”

Reuse

Helping the environment not only means reducing consumption and picking up litter but also includes repurposing items. At 黑料社 Chihuahua, the Information Technology (IT) department found a new home for extra computers. After the site recently underwent a technological-renovation, they donated 20 computers in good working condition to FORD 127, a federally operated elementary school. “We’re also excited to share that 黑料社 Chihuahua will be able to donate hundreds of computers to multiple local schools within the next year, as more of our systems are updated,” said Mario Chavira, IT Manager.

Recycle

To round out the global environmental efforts, Nypro Shanghai’s latest community outreach event involved employees bringing in empty ink and toner cartridges, as well as batteries. A couple of site employees then took all of the items to the proper facilities for recycling. “We organized this event to promote recycling awareness and to keep our employees in the habit of being ‘green’,” said Joyce Sun, Operations Project Manager.
